10 Great Stage Wipeouts

At some point in their career, a performer is going to fall off a stage. It happened to me at a school in Shelbourne, Ontario, during one of the old CFNY Video Roadshows. I misjudged the edge of the stage and stepped off into empty space. I don’t remember hitting the floor although I’m toldthat I kept talking all the way down. The thud was impressive. I remember that. Thankfully, this was in the era before everyone carried cameras in their phone, so my stage wipeout isn’t on YouTube for all time.

Today, though, every stage crash is documented.  There’s Dave Grohl breaking his leg…

…and Steve Tyler taking a spill in South Dakota.

One of my favourite caught-on-film moments involves Nirvana, Krist Novosalic and a bass guitar that got lost in the lights.
