100 Awesome Metal Facts

This could take a while. Loudwire has put together a slide show of 100 metal facts that often had me going “I did not know that.” For example:

  1. “Mantra,” a 2001 song from Tool, is bascially a slowed-down version of Maynard James Keenan squeezing his cat.
  2. This is Spinal tap is the only movie on IMDB to be rated 11 out of 10 stars.
  3. No one knows the identity of the woman on the cover of the first Black Sabbath album. She’s…vanished.
  4. Slayer’s Kerry King once bred show dogs.
  5. Speaking of which, System of a Down picked that name partially so they could be closer to Slayer in the record racks.
  6. When Lemmy wanted to kick drugs by having a complete blood transfusion like Keith Richards did, doctors refused, saying that his blood was so toxic, regular blood would probably kill him.

There’s much, much more here.

  • Is there a list of the 100, instead of clicking 100 times to get to each slide in the slide show?
