Attention DJs and Turntablists: 2017 CDJ Show and Conference This Weekend
This weekend Pioneer DJ presents the 2017 CDJ Show and Conference at the Toronto Hilton Hotel. Including industry panels, seminars, and performances, attendees can experience and learn from recording artist Earl Young, master of mixing Ben Liebrand, editor at DJ Magazine Sarah Polonsky, Dancing Astronaut managing editor Will McCarthy, director of Toolroom Records Stuart Knight, DJ-Producers Funkagenda and Eddie Amador, and long-time businessman Disco Donnie, among others.
Since its creation in 2009, the CDJ continues to maintain their vision as an industry initiative “for people in the electronic music industry and DJ Culture”. This year the show hosts some of the industry’s most influential and active members.
This year, the organizers have added several new panels to the program including “Women in Dance Music” and “Digital Marketing: How to Get the Media’s Attention”. Attendees can also partake in “Songwriting: How to Write a Hit Dance Song” and “The Annual Industry Panel”. Plus, there will also be the chance to network. The “GetSigned: Artist and Label Networking Event” gives patrons the opportunity to be in direct contact with the top record labels.
Back for another year on Friday March 10 Funkagenda and Stuart Knight host Toolroom Academy, a masterclass where participants have a chance to win two hours of one-on-one production time with Funkagenda. On March 11, US singer-DJ JES hosts a remix contest and will crown one lucky winner whose remix will be released on her label, Intonation Records. Artists can download and remix her track prior to the conference. On the Sunday, attendees can watch performances on the Main Stage including the DMC Canada East Coast Scratch Competition, the Ableton Live Producers Jam, and Dexterous One who holds the Guinness World Record for the “World’s Youngest Professional DJ”, plus others.
