21 Love Songs We Never, Ever, EVER Need to Hear Again

I hate Valentine’s Day.  Although I’ve been happily married for almost 23 years, I hate the collective guilt shoved our way every February 14.  It’s nothing more than a scam by greeting card companies, florists and restaurants.  And I feel terrible for single people who don’t want to be single.  To them, this is Loser Day.

Another reason I hate Valentine’s Day is because we get smothered with sappy, horrible “romantic” songs. Rolling Stone helpfully (?) compiled this list of 20 love songs we never, ever need to hear again, beginning with the wretched “Lady in Red.”

I, however, wish to nominate “Wonderful Tonight” from Eric Clapton.  Have you ever listen to the words of this piece of shit?

  • Lady In Red needs to die!!! Our stupid DJ at our wedding played that piece of shit when we told him NOT to play it and that our guests hate it to. Then he pulls this " by request" shit claiming it was requested when we damn well knew that wasn't the case.

And yes, "Wonderful Tonight" is why Clapton pretty much sucks after Cream. A massive turd!
