32 Sounds is a new documentary that could change the way you listen

It won’t be long before nominations for the 2024 Academy Awards are announced. Lobbying for various contenders has been going on for months. There’s a film called 32 Sounds that’s on the shortlist for Outstanding Documentary.

Director Sam Greene worked with a musician named JD Samson (Le Tigre, MEN) and sound expert Mark Mangini (Mad Max: Fury Road and Dune: Part One are on his resume) to explore the whole concept of sound. The film takes us through many of the sounds–32 of of them, obviously–we take for granted.

So yes, it’s a movie about sound. But how can that work? Check out the trailer and read more here.
