Here’s another terrific infographic from Completely Ignored. A hard scour through Wikipedia suggests these 61 artists have sold more than ONE HUNDRED MILLION records. Which inclusion on this list surprises you the most? (Via Cameron)

  • Olivia Newton John is the surprise. Grease would be under a soundtrack and Physical was a somewhat success but still a head scratcher. Surprised to see The Carpenters but not The Doors.

  • Interesting that at least two bands have solo artists who have sold 100M or more as well – Beatles/Sir John and Genesis/Phil

  • Depeche Mode has also sold 100,000,000 but didn’t have any number 1 hits.

  • I occasionally see this said about Depeche Mode (and don’t get me wrong, I love them), but I can’t find any proof they have actually sold this many. Like wikipedia cites it on a random article, but when you look up their album sales individually, they’re not particularly close.
