72-Year-Old Man Finds His Obscure Rock Recording Selling on eBay for HOW MUCH?

Once upon a time, Danny Norton was in a psych rock band from Winnipeg called The Expedition to Earth. Back in 1968, they recorded a single called “Time Time Time” which didn’t do much. There was never an album and the band broke up.

Danny is now living in Grand Forks, BC. One day, his wife called him over to the computer. She’s been looking for vinyl on eBay and chanced upon a 45 of Expedition to Earth. It was selling for $900. A few months later, another copy appeared which eventually sold for $1,137.

Why? The guitar sound that kicks in around the one-minute mark is especially gnarly.

He couldn’t let this go. Danny called up an indie record producer and set out to make the Expedition to Earth album that never was. He’s calling it Expedition BACK to Earth. Learn more at the CBC. (Thanks to Alan for the link.)
