A “Baby Shark” movie is coming. Run and hide!

The biggest earworm of the 21st century so far has to be Pinkfong’s “Baby Shark” with 10 billion YouTube views and counting. (I’m not going to embed the video or link to it anywhere in this post because it’s not necessary. It’s been burned into our brains forever.) Bad news: A full-length movie is in the works.

Somehow, the Pinkfong people are going to stretch a 2 minute and 16-second children’s song into a theatrical length movie, which means 90 minutes or more.

To be fair, beleaguered parents may have already been exposed to Pinkfong and Baby Shark’s Space Adventure, an hour-long thing that was in theatres briefly before moving to Netflix. There’s also the TV show called Baby Shark’s Big Show. This, though, will be worse.

There’s no word on the plot or the script but everything is in production with a release expected next year.
