A Big, Big Apology About All My Stupid Tweets

If you follow me on Twitter and Facebook, you have a right to be annoyed by the deluge of tweets that crashed your stream over the last 48 hours.  For my part, I had no idea what was happened.

After much investigation, it turns out that YouTube arbitarily turned on all notifications full blast and did some platform swtiching.  That was the cause of the tweet storm.  Again, I had no idea that was happening until the complaints and unfollows started coming in.

With the help of some very smart web people, we’ve (a) found the problem; (b) corrected the problem; and (c) promise it won’t happen again–we hope.  It was one of those stupid tech issues that come up when you rely on a behemoth like YouTube/Google.

Again, sorry for the inconvenience and annoyance.  Hell, I’d be pissed off, too.

  • No worries Alan! No way I would stop following you and I figured it had been a technical glitch of some sort. Kudos for all the great work you do!

  • Here I am, thinking you've gotten into some of Aerosmith's cocaine or had been infiltrated by some sort of bot. Good to know it was just the old "ScrewTube" on the fritz!
