A blues musician/pastor who called COVID-19 “mass hysteria” has died

Landon Spradlin is a member of the Blues Hall of Fame. He spent a chunk of his life going to bars, clubs, and pubs to both play and offer up a little preachin’. Spradlin was also a pastor in Gretna, Virginia.

Earlier this year, he went to Mardi Gras in New Orleas after dismissing the coronavirus pandemic as “mass hysteria” and that the press was using this as a way to bring down Donald Trump.

While in New Orleans, he started to feel unwell. He and his wife drove home to Virginia where he was admitted to hospital and put into intensive care. He died eight days later. (Via BBC)

Many religious people believe that they’re somehow immune to COVID-19 because they’re protected by Jesus. They also believe that this sort of preachin’ will prevent you from getting sick and/or cure you.
