A Brief History of Nudity in Music Videos (Probably NSFW)

With Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” in contention for song of the summer (helped along by American model Emily “They’re real and they’re spectacular” Ratajkowski in the unrated video) and Justin Timberlake’s “Tunnel Vision” nudie-fest (see both videos here), plenty of folks have been wondering about the need for barenakedness in music videos.

But this sort of thing really isn’t all that new.  Witness The Hollywood Reporter’s dogged research into the history of nudity (or something close to it) in music videos.  Let’s begin with this classic from Duran Duran from 1981.

And yes, they also cover Rammstein’s 2009 video, “Pussy.”  Do NOT click here unless you’re sure you won’t get caught.  Trust me.
