  • With all this hype about a new U2 album, and all of these supposed leaks and clips and tracklisitngs and whatnot, I'm concerned.

The same things happened before No ine On THe Horizon was released. I got all excited, and it was a dud. There were literally 14 years of hype for Chinese Democracy. Although a good album, I don't think any album could live up to the anticipation and hype of that album.

This new U2 album is being hyped like it's the second coming. Even if it's excellent, I think it may fall flat because of what everyone is beuilding it up to be in their minds.

Right now, I'm just surprised that Dave Grohl hasn't been somehow linked to a new U2 release. He seems to be getting his overexposed name attached to every entertainment project in the past year or two.

  • Unless U2 completely redefines themselves (and modern rock in the process), I see the law of diminishing returns coming into play here.

The landscape has changed, and U2 isn't (dare I say?) as relevant as they used to be.

  • I have on very good authority (first via a pal in Dublin who's in the band circle and today via a label rep I know for a friend in common) that the album is gonna be called Hideout. This double check of different sources is pretty much an answer that what I tell you is legit. The guys are planning everything (visually, marketing-wise, etc.) for a hot pre-Christmas release. Unlike the other guy who posted here, I'm not so sure about the last week of November. I've just been told that it's a Christmas release. The label rep added that a previous U2 album we can refer as a comparison is Pop, but it's at the same time totally different from that. I got it's all focused on the songs rather than the style. Great, great songs. Relevant songs. Forget Achtung.

You heard the story here first, folks.

  • U2 needs to dream it all up again, and go back to their roots, back to Boy. Bono said in an interview that theyre dreaming it all up again. Well have to wait and see. No matter what there my favorite and anything they produce is good.

  • I don't know. All these rumors, all "THE HYPE" die hard fans will get the reference to that one. Something's coming. Get on your boots cause something is on the horizon. 🙂
