A company is going deep into “music and entertainment for dogs and cats”

At some point, you’ve probably said to yourself “I wonder what kind of music my dog/cat prefers?” I think about this all the time. My English bull terriers love reggae, especially Bob Marley and Toots and the Maytals. I’m told this is because much reggae has a BPM very close to a dog’s resting heartrate. It helps them chill.

A company called Create Music Group feels that music for pets is a growth area. It has acquired Music for Pets, which has long focuses on “music and entertainment for dogs and cats.” They’ve already got a couple of brands–Relax My Dog and Relax My Cat–that rack up more than 12 million hours of listening every month.

We’re not sure how much Create Music Group spent on Music for Pets, but it does say that it plans to spend another US$10 million on the services over the next three years. (Via Music Ally)

  • I bought an album of scientifically engineered music for cats a few years ago off of kickstarter . Our cat has idiopathic epilepsy and it seems to have done wonders for his stress. I’m not normally into the frew frew stuff but this really seems to work.

  • I bought this guy’s music in 2016 on Kickstarter . He’s now got a website . Our epileptic cat finds it very soothing.
