A cover band was playing a pub. Then Billie Joe Armstrong jumped onstage. Watch.

Green Day has been around long enough for their songs to be standards for cover bands. One such band, Borderline Toxic, was playing at a bar called Slim Jim’s Liquor Store in Angel Saturday night (May 13), which is just north of London. It’s kind of an out-of-the-way place.

Yet during the band’s rendition of “Basket Case,” the band was interrupted by Billie Joe Armstrong hisself who jumped onstage and began to sing along. To say everyone was stunned is an understatement.

Why was he at this obscure suburban London pub? No idea, but it was a helluva treat for everyone,.

They aren’t a cover band, they were just singing a green day song. They do their own music.
