a-ha’s “Take On Me” video is still so popular that there’s a three-part YouTube doc on it

When a-ha released the video for “Take on Me” in 1985, its mixed-media approach was considered wondrous and magical. It had a long life on conventional video channels but has been resurrected to new heights thanks to YouTube. Sometime in very near future, this video will reach the coveted 1 billion views mark.

The video remains so popular that a three-part documentary on its creation has been made. Here’s part one.
