A lot of strange and disturbing stories are coming out after the death of Liam Payne

Liam Payne, the former member of One Direction who fell to his death from a third-floor hotel balcony this past Wednesday (October 16), has left behind a lot of questions and confusion. Here’s a quick round-up of some of those stories.

Hotel guests heard a loud scream

Earwitnesses at the CasaSur Palerma Hotel say that they heard a “loud, violent scream” at around 5pm just before the singer hit the ground. Others heard plenty of banging and the sorts of sounds made when someone is doing some heavy lifting. All evidence points to Liam being alone at the time.

Or maybe not. Who are the two “mystery women?”

We know more about how and where he fell

Payne’s third-floor room was a corner suite overlooking a courtyard. He fell about 15 metres/45 feet onto a very, very set of sturdy table-and-benches. The preliminary autopsy says his death was due to all kinds of injuries and “internal and external hemorrhage.”

Payne’s room was a mess and full of drug stuff

When authorities entered Payne’s hotel room, they found it destroyed. They also found a lot of alcohol, prescription drugs (including clonazepam), and drug paraphernalia (foil, a lighter, candles, tin foil, a series of blackened and burned aluminum cans, white powder, and scorch marks on a wooden table). Just before he died, he was down in the lobby off his head on drugs.

There’s now a hunt for the person or persons who sold him the drugs.

Two days before his death, Payne was dropped by his record label.

Universal gave up on promoting Liam’s last album and cut ties. His advance was huge and the album did not recoup it. Think that upset him? Reports say that he was having both a mental health crisis and partying in the days leading up to his death.

Was it an accident or did he jump?

No idea. Yet. Meanwhile, the New York Times has this summary of what we know so far.
