A musical based on Live Aid is coming to Toronto in 2025

If you’re familiar with what goes on in London’s West End, you may have heard about Just for One Day, a musical based on Live Aid, which will celebrate its 40th anniversary next July.

Organizer Bob Geldof and producers Luke Sheppard and Jamie Willson were in Toronto this week to announce the engagement at the Ed Mirvish Theatre starting January 26. Erica Ehm hosted the press conference.

The musical tells the story of what happened on Saturday, July 13, 1985, in both London and Philadelphia. It follows Suzanne, Marsha, Jim, and Amara who reminisce about their experiences that day. Bouncing back between present day and 1985, we learn about what happened that day. The musical features three dozen songs.

Tickets go on sale October 7.

I had some time with Sir Bob afterwards. Watch this space for more very soon.
