A new double drummer project from Matt Cameron and Taylor Hawkins

Drummers Matt Cameron (Soundgarden, Pearl Jam) and Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters) found some time on their hands lately (hey, who hasn’t?) and decided to form a new group called Nighttime Boogie Association.

Both guys are songwriters as well as timekeepers for their respective bands, but their bosses take care of most of that work so most of what they’ve created has never reached much beyond the demo stage.

Nighttime Boogie Association has been gestating for a while, beginning with sessions for a Chris Cornell tribute and then at Hawkins’ home studio. COVID screwed up all in-person recording sessions, so everything was done virtually with Taylor and Matt sending tracks back and forth online.

It appears that an album might appear sometime in the future. Meanwhile, we have two tracks, “Long in the Tooth” and “The Path We’re On.” Thoughts?
