Every year around this time, the BBC reveals their Sounds Of 20XX list, their attempt to predict the British hitmakers of the upcoming year. Here are the 15 acts they’ve picked:
A*M*E: 17 year-old with a big voice and major label backing.
Angel Haze: Hot female rapper
Arlissa: Pop tart
Chvrches: Scottish electropop
Haim: Fleetwood Mac-like sisters from LA
King Krule: Use to be known as Zoo Kid
Kodaline: Dublin’s Coldplay
Laura Mvula: Another big voice. Can’t help thinking of that Seinfeld episode, though.
Little Green Cars: Irish alt-pop
Palma Violets: Indie rock from the UK. Check out “Best of Friends.”
Peace: Birmingham guitar rock
Savages: All-female post-punk band
The Weeknd: Yep. Our Canadian boy.
Tom Odell: Jeff Buckley-ish.
