Alex Lifeson and Geddy Lee thank fans for the outpouring of support over the death of Neil Peart

The global explosion of shock, grief, mourning, and support regarding the death of Neil Peart over the last week or so has been nothing short of astonishing.

We’re all still trying to process the news. Fans have posted more than 24,000 to Rush’s Facebook page, too.

Alex and Geddy have released a statement about this outpouring of support. It’s short and to the point:

Our most heartfelt thanks go out to family, friends, musicians, writers and fans from around the globe for the incredible outpouring of love and respect for Neil since his passing.

These touching tributes help to lessen the pain of this terrible loss and remind us all to celebrate his remarkable life and our connections to it.
