America Is Doomed: US Public Prefers Miley Cyrus Over Syria Crisis

Outbrain’s logo. Or maybe it’s the eldest child on Bob’s Burgers.A survey by an outfit called Outbrain did some data tracking and found out that Americans looked at stories about Miley Cyrus’ twerking goofiness 12 times more than they researched the situation in Syria.

Okay, so there are all kinds of factors involved in coming up with that figure, but it must say something about American culture, right?

And I probably wouldn’t get too smug.  I’ll bet that if someone were to do a little data mining on Canadians, we’d be right up there.

(Thanks to John for pointing out these depressing facts at USA Today.)

Meanwhile, here’s a damning story about the guy behind Miley’s new “Wrecking Ball” video where she rides a wrecking ball naked.

A metaphor? Hey, it just came out yesterday and as of this writing has more than 14.7 million views.
