An Aston Martin once owned by Neil Peart is up for auction

Not only was Neil Peart a fan of motorcycles, he loved sports cars. His collection, which he called the Silver Surfers, is the subject of a book coming out later this year.

Meanwhile, a 2010 Aston Martin DBS, a 2+ 2 grand tourer that he used to drive is up for auction. It was registered in California and shows 34,000 km on the odometer. It has a nice Storm Black paint job with Obsidian Black upholstery. There’s a 5.9 litre V12 under the hood connected to a six-speed automatic gearbox. Options include a carbon fibre front splitter and rear diffuser, 20-inch alloy wheels, ceramic breaks, and some nice creature comforts inside the cockpit. Betcha some cool grooves were tapped out on that steering wheel, too.

It’s a clean machine. No accidents. It is, however an Aston, which mean it can be mechanically finicky.

The current bid is US$40,000 and the buyer will have to find a way of getting it home from Santa Clarita, California. If you’re interested, go here.

If you live in Ontario and buy the car, I’m afraid the best personalized license plate number has already been taken. Too bad it’s on a Ford Escape. (Via Rick)
