An Introduction to the Mellotron

Before there were synthesizers available to average musicians, the more adventurous types (Beatles, Moody Blues, etc.) experimented with a device called a Mellotron. Looking back at this thing from today’s digital perch, it seems as primitive as a flute made out of deer antler. But back in the day, this was sci-fi.  Synthtopia looks back on the introduction of the Mellotron fifty years ago.
