An opera based on the last days of Kurt Cobain? Yes.

Way back in 2005, director Gus Van Zant released a film called Last Days, a sad movie based the final days of a depressed doomed rock star and obviously inspired by Kurt Cobain.

Now Oliver Leith has taken the Last Days story (ergo, Kurt’s story) and created an opera also entitled Last Days. From that is this piece (performed by Caroline Polachek) entitled “Non Voglio Mai Vedere Il Sole Tramontare.” Translation: “I Never Want to See the Sun Go Down.”
