And the First Professional Singer in Space Will Be…

Sarah Brightman?

Yep, the world’s biggest-selling soprano (and star of the original production of Phantom of the Opera), is a space freak.  She’s book passage to the International Space Station and as soon as she’s done with current world tour, she’ll fly to Moscow for six months of cosmonaut training. She’s already completed her medical assessment.

So will there be a space concert?  Possibly.  She’s hinting at doing something musical.  I’m hoping she won’t belt out her 1978 disco hit, “I Lost My Heart to a Starship Trooper.” It’s awful.
