And the most pirated artist in the EU is…

A new report from the EU’s Intellectual Property Office details which films, TV shows, and musicians have been pirated the most. At the top of the list is Ed Sheeran, who has been ripped off with illegal downloads at least 7.46 million times in 2019, the last year for which data is available.

Here’s the entire top ten and their piracy numbers in millions.

  1. Ed Sheeran, 7.46
  2. Luis Fonsi, 6.29
  3. Ricky Martin, 4.29
  4. Charlie Puth, 4.07
  5. Bruno Mars, 3.61
  6. Taylor Swift, 2.39
  7. Arcade Fire, 1.93
  8. Shakira, 1.85
  9. Neil Young, 1.66
  10. Justin Timberlake, 1.64

The only other Canadian in the top 30 is the weekend with a ripoff number of 1.01 million.
