And the UK’s Most Popular Xmas Song of the Century Is…

Well, it has to be “Fairytale of New York” by the Pogues, doesn’t it?

According to the Daily Express, the song has been played on radio, TV and online more than any other seasonal song since the start of the 21st century.  Strangely, the song has never reached #1 on the British charts.

Interestingly, too, is that Shane McGowan and Kirsty MacColl never sang together in the studio.  They did their parts completely separately.  Unlike this video, of course…
