And there it is: Jane’s Addiction tour canceled. Band hints that Perry Farrell is having mental health isses.
Yep, just like I was told very early this morning, the current Jane’s Addiction tour with the classic lineup is off. No surprises here.
Everyone seems to be very worried about Perry’s mental health.
Jane’s Addiction – Dave Navarro, Stephen Perkins and Eric Avery – FULL STATEMENT ON THE CURRENT TOUR’S CANCELLATION:
“Due to a continuing pattern of behavior and the mental health difficulties of our singer Perry Farrell, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to discontinue the current US tour.
Our concern for his personal health and safety as well as our own has left us no alternative. We hope that he will find the help he needs.
We deeply regret that we are not able to come through for all our fans who have already bought tickets. We can see no solution that would either ensure a safe environment on stage or reliably allow us to deliver a great performance on a nightly basis.
Our hearts are broken.
Dave, Eric and Stephen
Meanwhile, Perry apologized for his behavior.
Which of course sucks for those of us who had tickets for the show tomorrow. But my follow-up question is what recourse, if any, does Love and Rockets have? Would they have had cancellation insurance? Or are they just as out of luck as everyone else?
