It Was Another Crazy Weekend for Violence and Death in Music

What is it with 2016? What’s with all the death and violence when it comes to music? Look what happened just this past weekend.

  • There was the attack on the Radiohead listening party in Turkey which was followed up by street protests that were broken up by tear gas, water cannon and rubber bullets.
  • Alejandro “Jano” Fuentes, a contestant on Mexico’s version of The Voice has been shot and killed. And he wasn’t in Mexico; he was shot near Chicago during a carjacking.
  • Attrell Cordes of PM Dawn–we knew him as Prince Be–died of renal kidney disease.
  • Brian Rading, the bass player for Canada’s Five Man Electric Band, has died at age 69.
  • And a fan died at a NOFX show in Copenhagen after being hit on the head in the pit.

Jeebus, let’s be careful out there.
