Another reissue: The 30th-anniversary edition of (What’s the Story) Morning Glory from Oasis

The people behind the Oasis reunion haven’t missed a chance to maximize revenue. The latest (released Friday, October 10) is this 30th-anniversary edition of (What’s the Story) Morning Glory. And it comes with a new cover.

It’s still a shot south down Berwick Street in London, but a little further down the road from the original. It’s also a recent shot (note the weed shop that wouldn’t have existed in 1995). But Sister Ray is still there, a record store that I always visit when I’m in the UK. And the Indian restaurant that made the cover in 1994? It’s gone, replaced by another one. I’ve eaten at both and I preferred the original. Damn good lamb korma.

Brian Cannon. Oasis’ official art director in the 90s, talks about the new cover.

The release also comes with:

  • Five new unplugged performances: “Acquiesce,” “Cast No Shadow,” “Wonderwall,” “Champagne Supernova,” and “Morning Glory.”
  • The 3 x LP version comes in various colours, ranging from “crystal clear” to “Amazon exclusive sepia,” and “neon orange.”
  • There’s also a 2 x CD version.

Here’s a look at one of them. The cost? About CAD$112.
