Another Reunion: Bow Wow Wow

Bow Wow Wow were known for three things:

1.  They were Malcolm McLaren’s managerial project after the Sex Pistols.

2.  The singer was Annabella Lwin, a British girl of Burmese decent.  McLaren found her as a 14 year-old working at a dry cleaning shop.  There was something of a flap when she appeared nude on the band’s 1981 album See Jungle! See Jungle! Go Join Your Gang.  City All Over!  Go Ape Crazy.  There was even an investigation by Scotland Yard.

3.  The song “I Want Candy,” which, by the way, was a cover.  The original was done by the Strangeloves back in 1965.  (Compare and contrast after the jump.)

Why am I bringing this up now? Because they’re launching their first tour of the UK in nearly 30 years next month.
