Anyone Else Know About the New Oasis Easter Eggs?

One of the sad things about the decline of the CD is that we don’t see as many Easter eggs secreted away on discs. Hidden songs, weird audio, buried video–all those weird little discoveries we used to find when we least expected it.

Whoever put together the super-deluxe version of Oasis’ Definitely Maybe album has more than a passing fondness for this sort of thing.  Greggory cut’n’pasted these little secrets from the DVD included in the set. I quote from Amazon:

* DVD Secret Tracks *

Rock ‘N’ Roll Star audio track – press “down” on your DVD remote for an interview about Liam wanting bagpipes on Rock ‘N’ Roll Star. Yes, bagpipes.

Supersonic audio – press “down” for music theory.

Cigarettes & Alcohol audio – press “down” for interview with Noel about the song.

Slide Away audio – press “down” for interview about the name Definitely Maybe.

Married With Children audio – press “down” for the letter from Guigsy on why he was not on the DVD.

Sad Song audio – during the black intro, press “down” for audio clips of the legendary “Wibling Rivalry” interview.

Live Forever audio – press “down” for interview with Noel about wanting Live Forever as track three on the album.

Press “angle” on Live Forever, Shakermaker, Supersonic and Cigarettes & Alcohol for US versions of the videos.

Cool, no?

  • Erm, this are in reference to the *Definitely Maybe* DVD released in 2004. This is the Definitely Maybe tracklist, NOT the Morning Glory tracklist.

    Neither the DM nor WTSMG box set remasters/reissues from 2014 contain DVDs. I have both of them. Sorry but this article is plain wrong 🙁

    • Oops. Wrong album title. Brain fart. As for the rest of it, I can only point back to the original source.

      • This is because Amazon lumps reviews for all editions of an album together. No DVDs are included in the 2014 super deluxe editions.
