Apologies, but there’s no getting around the Super Bowl Swifty talk

A lot of people will be very happy come Monday when we can finally put the Super Bowl behind us. The hype–especially the Ross-and-Rachel hysteria surrounding Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce–has been too much. But this is what a substantial part of North America (and I suppose the world) is talking about.

A new survey by a tax services company looked at Swifties and the Super Bowl. Here’s what they found.

  • 69% of Swifties are hoping that the Chiefs win. I find that shockingly low.
  • 29% believe that Kelce will win MVP. Most (46%) say it’ll be QB Matrock Mahomes.
  • 96% of Swifties believe that Tay-Tay will be able to make it to the Super Bowl in time even though she’s got a gig in Tokyo the night before. (The Japanese Government says it will help her departure from the country.)
  • Some Swifties (5%) are spending an average of US$7,940 to go to the game.
  • 21% say they’d take a second job to be able to go to the game.
  • 7% would go into debt.
  • 1% say they’d sell an organ.
  • 76% say there will be no proposal
  • 21% say she’ll make some kind of surprise appearance.
  • 14% say a new collaboration with the NFL will be announced.
