Apple has a carrot out to artists who use their spatial audio format

After almost a quarter century of declining audio fidelity that began with the introduction of MP3s, the recorded music industry is working to get everyone to upgrade to better-sounding music so we can all enjoy the same kind of high-fidelity that we all enjoyed in the 1970s and 80s.

There are various types of high-res and enhanced audio out there: FLAC, Dolby ATMOS, Sony 360, and Apple’s Spatial Audio. All of them are fairly similar and definitely offer a better listening experience. Apple, however, is getting aggressive aggressive.
