Apple has added a concert discovery feature to Music and Maps

Don’t you hate it when miss a show because you didn’t realize that the band was in town last night? You’re not alone. With so many acts constantly on the road, the number one annoyance among fans is not knowing about a gig they really wanted to see. Who can keep track?

Apple is trying to help with Music and Maps. There’s a new section within Apple Music called Set Lists which includes a “selection of major tours” along with setlists from the Apple Music library. To beef things up, it’s added Shazam’s concert discovery tool (Shazam is owned by Apple).

There’s also something new within Apple Maps: 40 concert guides for 10 cities. This includes clubs, various music venues, concert halls, and more. There’s a long way to go yet, but this could help prevent you from missing a show you really, really want to see.
