Apple’s Shazam app predicts these artists will be big in 2023

Shazam, the magical Apple-owned app that can identify a song by listening to it, can be an interesting source of data. What songs are people Shazaming the most? And how do things differ from territory to territory?

Based on the curiosity of music fans collated by Shazam taken in cafes, stores, from TV and TikTok, and just overhearing something out in public, the app predicts that these artists could explode in the coming months.

  • Ice Spice (US)
  • charlieonafriday (US)
  • Benson Boone (US)
  • Young Miko (Puerto Rico)

There’s a playlist of 50 possible breakout stars available on Apple Music. Artists come from Japan, Spain, France, Nigeria, Spain, Colombia and more.

How good are these predictions? Last year, half of Shazam’s picks went on to end up on top 200 national charts.
