Arcade Fire Roadtests New Album…at a Salsa Bar?

Apparently so.  They showed up Monday at a Montreal venue called Salsatheque–a salsa bar–to offer up a secret preview of Reflektor, the new album dues at the end of October.

They played a short list of all new material, which, according to those who witnessed it was rather dance-oriented.  That’s not terribly surprising given that producing the record is James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem.  Read more about the gig at The Main.

Once you’re done, watch this trailer for Reflektor.  And remember that Arcade Fire will release the first single from the album at 9pm ET Monday.

One final thing: if you’re in Toronto, watch for the electronic billboard advertising Reflektor on the QEW-Gardiner route.  I saw it for the first time this morning and nearly drove into a bridge abuttment.
