Are you a fan of The Cure? Then you’ll want the CUREPEDIA

The Cure has been with us since 1976 which means that there’s a lot to know about them, enough to fill an encyclopedia. Simon Price, a British music journalist and hardcore Cure fan, decided what the world needed was a single source–a “curepedia”–for everything about the band. Come December 12, Dey Street Books will release CUREPEDIA (The A-Z of The Cure).

The blurb goes like this:

CUREPEDIA is a full-scale look at the long list of band members, current and past, unknown facts, tours, summaries of every album, song, films, as well as entries on the image of the band, their influence, their style, and their enduring legacy. Cure-devotees will learn:

  • How Lol Tolhurst got the band thrown off a tour for urinating on Billy Idol
  • The Cure’s lowest ranking single, which technically was not a single
  • Which brand of hairspray was used by Cure fans to imitate that look
  • The items that Robert Smith was never without on a bus (including a “lamb”), and other zoology that inspired the Cure (fact: Robert Smith once snuck into the Edinburgh Zoo at midnight)
  • What Robert really thinks about the USA…and much more!

Sounds like the kind of thing that needs to be on my bookshelf.
