If there’s one thing for a rocker to do it’s to admit that he/she is on the right of the political spectrum. Saying that you vote Republican (or Conservative in Canada or the UK) is almost a death wish.

Think about that for a second.  There’s no disputing that artists tend to lean left.  How many musicians have you ever heard to come out in support of Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher or Stephen Harper? There are a few–Johnny Ramone, Kid Rock, Hank Williams Jr. and..um, gimme a sec…

Coming out as a conservative (or Conservative) is a rare thing for an artist.  It’s a brave move, keeping to your personal principles like this.  But it seldom helps with your fanbase.

Then again, what has Scott Stapp of Creed got to lose at this point?
