The BBC Releases Its Annual “Sound Of” Longlist

Every year around this time, the big music brains at the BBC come out with a list of up-and-coming artists they believe have a real shot at breaking through in the next twelve months. Their track record is pretty good, too, because in the past they’ve predicted the rise of people like Frank Ocean and Adele.

You might want to spend the weekend doing some research on these sixteen names.

Alma
Billie Eilish
IAMDDB
Jade Bird
Khalid
Lewis Capaldi
Not3s
Nilüfer Yanya
Pale Waves
Rex Orange County
Sigrid
Sam Fender
Superorganism
Tom Walker
Yaeji
Yxng Bane

My pick? Jade Bird. She’s signed to Glassnote and has “star” written all over here.
