Beats Music to Debut with Super Bowl Ads?

Beats Music, the music streaming service founded by Jimmy Iovine and Dr Dre, plans to launch sometime this quarter.  Rumours in the New York Post say that things will be announced with a series of ads on the Grammys (January 26) and the Super Bowl (February 2).

If this is true, keep in mind that Super Bowl spots are running at $4 million per 30 seconds.

Beats will enter an arena already crowded with incumbents: Spotify, Pandora, Radio, Slacker and others.  Beats needs to make a big splash if they’re going to get any attention.

Another rumour says that Beats has a deal with AT&T to bundle music with phone plans.  We’ll see.
