How Big is the Apple App Store? THIS Big

The last time I checked, I have 188 apps on my iPhone X. I figure I use about a dozen of them regularly, so I could delete the other 176 and barely noticed. But since I actually paid for a bunch of them (and I can’t remember which ones), I can’t bring myself to initiate the cull.

The App Store, which was widely pooh-poohed when it was announced, is on target to bring in bring in–wait for it $100 million dollars a DAY by the end of this year.

An analytics company called Asymco says that the app economy is still growing at a crazy rate. If things keep going at this speed, the whole ecosystem will be worth half a trillion dollars sometime in the next two years.

Put another way, the global revenues in apps will exceed that of the entire box office take of the movie industry by the end of the year.
