Big Fundraising Event on Horizon for New National Music Centre

Canada’s National Music Centre–a monstrous facility now taking shape in downtown Calgary is well under construction and on target for an opening in the next 18 months.  Once it’s done, it will be far, far, far better than The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame or The Experience Music Project.

Trust me. I’m on the advisory board. I’ve seen the plans.  It. Will. Be. Amazing.

But this sort of monument doesn’t come cheap, With a budget of $160 million, they’re still a few bob short of reaching their ultimate goal.  That’s why they’ve planned a fundraising event this fall.  I quote:

THE TASTES

THE EXPERIENCE
Uniquities will be transformed into a multi-room experience that echoes NMC’s programming. See music in a new way through art installations, rare artifacts and music mash-up performances around every corner. The evening culminates in a exclusive performance from JUNO Award winner Johnny Reid. But make sure to stay to enjoy the After Party!

Tickets are $250 and funds raised support the National Music Centre building project and music programming in our community. Tax receipts will be issued for a portion of the ticket price.
