Billy Corgan sang “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” at a hockey game. Watch.

This year’s outdoor NHL Winter Classic was held at Wrigley Field in Chicago on New Year’s Eve with the Hawks taking the Blues 6-2 in front of 40,000 fans. One of the people in the stands was Billy Corgan and the rest of The Smashing Pumpkins.

The entertainment began with the Pumpkins playing a couple of songs (“Today” and “Sighommi”) on the pre-game TV broadcast.

That was followed by a first intermission appearance by Chance, The Rapper. And then Billy returned just before the third period started with rendition of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame.” Given the venue, it kinda makes sense, even during a hockey game in December.
