Billy Talent All Set to Release a Greatest Hits Album with Two New Songs

Year ago, there was a kid named Ben whose job it was to protect me and the 102.1 the Edge studio from the crackheads coming in off Yonge Street. He was very good at his job so when he announced he was leaving to pursue his dream of being in a band full-time, we wished him well. I believe my actual words were “HAH HAH HAH! GOOD LUCK, KID! YOU’LL BE BACK HERE BRINGING ME STARBUCKS BEFORE YOU KNOW IT!”

Yeah, well, I was wrong. Ben Kowalewicz and Billy Talent have done okay.

With a new manager and a new plan for global domination, they’re set to release an album called HITS, which, as you might guess is a best-of compilation. As of next Thursday (September 25), you can pre-order the album and immediately get a new studio track called “Kingdom of Zod.” The album itself will be out November 4.

Wait! There’s more.

  • Check out the new interactive video vault featuring all kinds of interview material.
  • The deluxe version of the CD will feature live video shot at Sound Academy in Toronto and the Metropolis in Montreal.
  • A super-deluxe package–limited edition, of course–will come with a 35-page book.

As for those two new songs, word is that the band has grown in terms of their sound and style. I wonder what that means?
