Bono on Trump’s threat to investigate him and others over Kamala Harris support: “There will be trouble.”

Bono has been giving interviews as part of the promo push for his Stories of Surrender film, which is now running on Apple TV+. During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel, he was asked about Trump and his threats against artists for “illegally” supporting and endorsing Kamala Harris. Trumpy is annoyed at Bono, Springsteen, Beyonce, and Tom Morello (if he even knows who he is) and has called for a “major investigation” into his suspicion that they were paid for their endorsements.

When Kimmel asked him about Bruce Springsteen’s anti-Trump speeches, Bono replied, “I think there’s only one Boss in America.” When Kimmel started to read a Trump Truth Social rant, Bono interrupted. “I don’t want to cut in on your actions because I know the president at 1 a.m. or 1:30 or whatever that was is usually thinking about you.” He then denied every being for any endorsement.

“Two points I’ll make. One, to be in the company of Bruce Springsteen, Beyoncé, and Oprah, I’d play tambourine in that band. And two, U2 and I have never been paid or played a show to support any candidate from any parts. That never happened.” As for Truth Social, Bono described it as “pretty anti-social and not very true.”

Bono then went on to predict “trouble” for Trump, pointing out that he’s been involved in all kinds of humanitarian work, including with George W. Bush, and a lot of conservatives and evangelicals. They haven’t forgotten Trumps shutting down of USAID.

“We’ve got a lot of very religious Catholics, evangelicals, conservatives, who are very, very, very angry with the person that they voted into office, having demolished instruments of mercy and compassion, like USAID or PEPFAR, which had saved 26 million lives of people who had AIDS around the world,” he said. “That’s the America that we love. That’s the America that we all want to be part of, and they are not happy, and there will be trouble.”
