That could be the best link bait headline I’ve ever written. I’m rather proud of it. And there’s plenty of truth to it, too.
This weekend marks the debut of The Knick, the story of doctors at The Knickerbocker Hospital in New York at the very beginning of the 20th century. Think of it as ER before antibiotics and any machines that goes ping.
But what of that headline?
The series stars Clive Owen as the ego-driven doctor central to the story. He, like many doctors, has become a drug addict–liquid cocaine, actually. He seeks the assistance of a naive nurse from Virginia played by one Eve Hewson (daughter of Paul Hewson, aka Bono). She is the one who wields a syringe who injects the liquid gak into said penis.
