Brian Byrne Wants to Parlay IME into STP: Watch His Audition

When Brian Byrne, the singer for I Mother Earth, saw that the surviving members of Stone Temple Pilots were holding open auditions for a new singer, he decided that he’d give it a shot. Yes, replacing Scott Weiland (and Chester Bennington) is daunting, but hey, why not give it a shot?

I’m a fan of Brian (who is now a radio guy in Halifax), IME and STP. I’d like to see all this come together for him. Check out his Facebook page for more.

  • Nice, he does a good job. With better production this would sound excellent. Plus this could actually make sense, unlike that turd from linkin park..

  • A good fit…I myself stepped into the seemingly impossible position of what was thought to be replacing the irreplaceable. The approach is to bring your own respectful interpretation of well known and truly loved “songs”, and deliver projecting how you yourself now “fit” in, cementing the final puzzle piece and then giving back to the fandom their beloved band. All along by keeping in balance the fact you are filling Scott’s space , not taking his place…best wishes.
