Burlington Sound Of Music Festival

It’s about that time of year again and you can smell it in the air. Festival season is right around the corner, and if you listen closely, you can already hear the murmurs of who’s coming to town. Latest in my inbox, Sound of Music Festival turns 39 June 9th – 17th and has already announced a couple of its Kick-Off weekend’s attendees. Oklahoma’s very own power pop titans The All-American Rejects, have RSVP’d and so has the multi-platinum selling, 90’s alt-rock fan fave, Everclear.

Executive director, Dave Miller promises “This is just the start of the lineup, we can’t wait to announce the rest of the amazing Kick-Off Weekend to you, including more big bands for Saturday!”

After the long cold winter, June is the month where Burlington’s music scene comes to life for their largest event of the year, with tons of different bands, spanning all types of genres. The Kick Off weekend sets the wheels in motion for the 9-day festival, with its gates opening at 1 pm – 11 pm Saturday, June 9 and 1 pm – 9:30 pm Sunday, June, 10. And thanks to a few generous sponsors and a whole whack of hardworking volunteers, the festival is free Father’s Day weekend. The Fathers Day lineup for June 14th- 17th will be announced April 25th, so hang tight for more details.
