Cool!

Can you spin a vinyl record TOO fast? Let’s find out.

How fast can you spin a vinyl record before all hell breaks loose and we’re treated to some awesome destruction?

Gavin Free and Dan Gruchy are The Slow Mo Guys. They train their high-speed video cameras (i.e. 12,500 frames per second) on things that are moving really, really fast so we can see what happens.

They decided to rev up a vinyl record to a speed where centrifugal forces suddenly break it apart into about 50,000 pieces. Watch.
